10 questions for checking internal training material clarity

Internal material should not only deliver information. It should help people understand what they need to do after seeing it.

10 check questions

  1. Does the employee understand why the topic matters?
  2. Is it clear what changes?
  3. Is it clear who is affected?
  4. Are the actions sequenced?
  5. Are terms explained in plain language?
  6. Is there too much information on the slides?
  7. Is there a summary at the end?
  8. Are repeated questions anticipated?
  9. Can the manager present it consistently?
  10. Does the participant know the next step?

Why this matters

If internal material is unclear, the result is repeated questions, different interpretations and extra work. Clearer material reduces that risk.

When to ask for an external view

If the material has already been reviewed internally several times, an external view may better reveal what remains unclear to the audience.
